OTTAWA—I am delighted to wish a very happy 92nd birthday to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
For well over six decades Her Majesty has served as our head of State, and in so doing has stood as an example of dignity and dedication. Throughout her reign she has constantly demonstrated a sense of duty and concern for Canada. My son Laurier and I had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty last September when we visited Balmoral prior to my installation as Governor General. She appeals to the best in us, and Canadians from coast to coast to coast are grateful for her service to our country.
Today, let us join in celebrating the birthday of the remarkable person who serves as our queen.
