He played an active role in 992 charities and organizations as a member, supporter or Royal Patron, with more than 40 based in Canada. He visited Canada over 60 times, 46 times on his own.
This an online tribute highlighting the many facets of Prince Philip's life. The event will feature official greetings from the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and personal anecdotes about the Duke of Edinburgh from former Governor General of Canada David Johnston, former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario David Onley, and CTV’s Royal Commentator, Richard Berthelsen, who was a Royal Tour advisor and private secretary to two lieutenant governors.
